Default CVO mufflers with fulsac baffles & FL-Vied-10

Spent last 5 months deciding what to upgrade on my 2013 Road King's exhaust.First of all,I decided to eliminate the catalyst in the exhaust pipes.I found on Ebay a take off exhaust pipe from a dealer in Texas for a reasonable price of 49.95 plus shipping.I bought this so if I ever needed to have a pipe with the catalyst,I would have it.I removed my original pipe and had at it with the spade bit and drill method. After 3 hrs and two burnt up drills,I finally got all the catalyst removed, even the part in the crossover which must of snagged on the bit and ripped loose. If I ever had to do over,I would buy one done on Ebay.Next I found a set of CVO mufflers off a 2014 Road King, which I wanted because of the removable end caps.I bought a set of 2" Fullsac baffles plus the screens and installed them in the mufflers.Hardest part was grinding spot welds on the original baffles.Put completed mufflers on bike.First thing noticed was how much more exhaust flow at idle and a deeper tone.Bike has a deep rumble throughout the gears on accelleration and a nice mellow tone at cruising speed.I think this has to do with the muffler screens installed that are wrapped with one layer of fiberglass packing. The screens hold the packing against the inner wall of muffler.I had no deaccell popping and bike felt to rev quicker through out the rpm range.I then installed a set of Nightriders FL-Vied-10's set at 50 % so the engine would run cooler in our south Florida temps. All in all I am very happy with the results and have a good looking set of mufflers with exchangable tips and a nice mellow deep sound and a bike that runs better and cooler than before.

Watch the Touring Classifieds in this forum if you want a good deal on used CVO mufflers. I bought a set from a member and did the Fullsac baffles and screens and really like the sound of the bike.

.....and Fullsac has a sale of $99 right now on CVO cores. I just emailed them and asked Alice if they could sell me a set of their 96-103 2" cores at that price so I could install them in my stock mufflers. She said that the best they can do is $179 on a set so I bought them anyway. Great company to deal with. I did get a set of 1.75" ones and they are good for the long haul but I want my bike to sound like a HD for local shorter trips now.

Default Thanks Q

Have to thank The Q for his suggestion to use the 2" fullsac baffles with the screens when I purchased the CVO mufflers from a forum member.Couldn't be happier with the sound and performance.

Same here, albeit I have 2006 CVO mufflers which already have the screen with loose wrap material. 2" baffles, PCV w/autotune...it's all good. Real good

i put the cvo mufflers with 2.0 cores on the wife's bike a couple of years ago. sounded so good that when i got my cvo, instead of going with a whole new system, i went with the full sac sport pipe, and recores. sounds great, and doesn't kill you on those long days in the saddle.
