Vance and Hines Oval slip-ons for RK Classic
I'd like to get the Vance and Hines oval slip-ons for my new RK classic. What do I have to do to the bike, engine compatibility wise? Would I need the Stage 1 upgrade? And I assume these aftermarket pipes would void my extended warranty...any ideas, Thanks

Nothing, and no.
Just put the slip ons on, and you'll be fine. The bike will run better with a new air cleaner and a remap, but you don't HAVE to do it. No, it won't void your warranty unless the pipes cause some weird alteration in the universe which cause damage to the motor as a result of the pipes.
Put 'em on and enjoy 'em.

Great choice for mufflers. I have them on my Ultra and it sounds awesome. I went with the Power Commander III usb and the SE Stage I breather kit. Bought all of them from www.mandmcycles.com and they really gave me a great price for all three.
If you want to run the slip-ons without anything else, they will be ok, but you won't really notice the potential of the new mufflers and your engine until you upgrade your breather and the ignition system. If you go with the Harley Re-Map then you will still be ok, but that has to be done each time you upgrade your engine. The power commander allows you to change parts and upload new maps on your own with no additional expense.
Good luck and you will really enjoy the new mufflers.

I don't know about the V&H but I put a set of Thunderheader slipons and the SE air filter and didn't have to do a thing. I keep hearing that when you change the air filter you have to remap, but mine seems to be running great. Every once in a while I'll experience an pop or small hesitation but nothing that is consistent or problematic. So I'd say put them on and see how she runs.

Put them on my RK Standard and they look and sound great. I've had many compliments on them. I went with the SE Race Tuner and the SE Air Intake, though not necessary. Had it dyno'd and it made a substantial difference in the performance. Good Luck.
