How hard are pushrods?

rocker boxes come off in 5 minutes after tank removal.
rocker arm support plate comes off just as easy
under rocker arm support plate is where your pushrods are located.
my suggestion is take one out at a time, take the tube off, put the pushrod back in place
if they will be off for any period of time, cover the holes.

How hard... I'd say Rockwell C 45... ( an engineering joke)
If you can get the tops of the rocker boxes off the rest is easy.
99% of the people I know just put a pair of bolt cutters to the push rods and install adjustable, claiming it is cost effective over the rocker box R&I time (pull the tank, etc)
When we did the gear drives on mine recently we just cut the old ones out and replaced them with S&S adjustables

Man, I sure don't know why a guy would want to stick with stock pushrods when installing adjustables makes life easier all the way around! Sure, there's the initial expense of them, but after that, doing anything regarding the cam chest, yada yada, just is a cool breeze...there is a VERY good thread in this forum from about a week ago that 'splains the pushrod adjustment procedure, and there's one sure way to determine when enough time has elapsed to go from one rod to the next one.
My STRONG suggestion would be to investigate the numerous threads in this, and other, forums regarding adjustable pushrods, and go that direction. Get a high quality set of pushrods, pay extra for them, don't cheap out on parts that undergo as much motion as pushrods do, and are as critical to the engine's health!

There is advantages to both.
Stock bike and quiet, tank already off, leave the stocks.

i totally agree. if you've got stock or a cam that can use stock, I'd use stock. Doesn't take but a few minutes to pull the top end off.

35000 miles on mine and no issues..If one came lose on the side of the road i would pop the cover off and re tighten it..Simple as that...How many issues ave you heard of them coming loose? really with the 100 of thousands sold, if they were that bad to use we would hear about it a lot more....Look, if the bike is quiet already with stock and you are taking the top cover off already to powder coat or chrome or etc then i would stay with stock...I would just the bolt cutters to the stock rods just for ***** n giggles.
