Default 21" front wheel - metal spokes or cast/forged ???

I'm looking at putting a 21" front on my EG/SG.

I like the looks of those "Fat Daddy" super fat-metal spoke rims... but not sure if that will look right on a SG... (I see it all the time on softails, Heritages in particular)

Are many folks doing that, or sticking with a forged/cast style wheel in keeping with a more stock look?

We have quite a few customers with baggers whom have done this wheel. If you like the style (I do) I say go for it.

It seems none of my customers with Street Glides or Road Glide's have sent in pics. I think they look great on a bagger, and are not all that common place like they are on Softail's.

When running a 21" front wheel do you need to change to a narrower front guard? Or does the 3.5" rim look okay under the stock front fender? Hard to find any front on pics.

thnx!

can you do me 1 more favor and riddle me this:

*i read that ~99-07 are same front wheel
*08+ diff

But then some guys claim that I can just swap the wheel bearings and they will inter-change...

I have an 02 EG standard... can you triple confirm what will fit / not fit... and what will cross reference with swapping of bearings?

Some guys run a wrapped fender some stay with the stock fender, I personally think it looks ok with the stock fender makes it look like a slammed car or truck..Take a look at hogpros web site they might have a few from the front.

08 and up could either be ABS or non abs but the bearings are all 25mm so the same size. The bearings widths are different on some of teh bearings so buying a wheel that is designed for 08 and up if you avhe an 08 or up bike will be a little bit easier if you don't want to mess with axle spacers.
