gps/PV mount on inner fairing - so far no drilling...
been poking around a bit creating a bracket for my PV as I love the PV but hate it on the handlebar.
Want it on the fairing in the middle but do not want to drill holes to mount...
below pictures of the mock up.
so far 1 dollar in cost
I had a garmin nuvi broken bracket laying around (one of those you can "hook up" to your air vent in your car.
drilling/grinding and 1 hr later, got the bracket done.
it clamps between the inner fairing and the windshield and cannot come out on its own.
probably do have to cut a small half hole in the fairing so I can pull the wire thru the fairing. stuck some "fabric" at the bottom so it will not scratch the fairing.
Only thing to do would be to order 1 fairing rubber ount (believe they call it extrusion) at the Dealer to close the tapered small gap between the windshield and the inner fairing (not that it rains a lot here in Vegas).
once I perfected the bracket, I will build one "the right way" and will probably paint it with plasti-dip as I love that stuff and it prevents scratching as well... did my helmet with it as well. you can spray the stuff that comes in the can BTW (thin it!!!! 1 on 1 with 50% xylene/50% naptha).
