Default Oil leak

Alright I just bought my bike a month ago used from hd it's a 06 SG and notice small oil spots leaking from the primary casing. I have been trying to read up on it but not too much luck. Anyone have suggestions?

Hard to say without pics of the leak but I would clean the area with a degreaser. You should be able to see where it is coming from after it sits for a while.

if the leak is in front of primary my guess that the stator plug is leaking. only way to fix is replacing stator. Hope that's not it.

I'd go the cheap way 1st & check things that could be loose like the oil filter, drain plug o ring, derby cover o ring, trans cover bolts loose, plugged trans vent hose.
