Agreed - but all bikes respond differently to different size riders and their selected wind shields (among other things) helmet / lowers / seat height / handle bar style & location ...

ride & decide

but don't pre-judge
all those RG owners seem to have found a good fit - although some have struggled while others have not

....... i'd go for a used one.
.... save as much as you can now & you'll feel less bad about the beating you take when it becomes a trade in on a new '15 or '16

Only if you keep the windshield and handlebars stock.

I just bought the 2013. There is 2014. Didn't get price below list but I got the 5 yr warranty for free. Love the bike.

Don't know how big you are or what model you rode but my OE stock 2012 RGU was a dream and took its first 2500 mile trip right out the gate alongside a 2008 RKC. He had buffeting, I was sitting in smooth air and could wear a ballcap bill forward at 75mph on the slab.

BTW I am 6'2" 32" inseam and 280 lbs. Stock bars, have added a Windvest 16" shield for the little turbulence that affected my head when wearing a helmet.

When set-up right with fairing lowers and the right windshield the ride on a Road Glide is a dream. Can't be beat for wind control and handling. Had my RG Ultra up to 115 out on the super slab and the ride was silky smooth with no buffeting. Just some slight smooth air flow.

As far as new vs used if the price is close go new. But also feel free to shop around. I'm sure other dealers have leftovers and would be willing to deal. These are not collectors items. They are a leftover bike holding up a spot on their floorplan that could be occupied by a 2014.

i have no regrets about trading my SG for a RG. as far as the new/used issue. i def vote new. because of warrenty and no chance of previous owner abuse or lack of maintence. also IF financing the insterest is usually better. most of the time a used one cost damn near the same price and i never understand that.

Well, I made the mistake and rode one today. All I can say is WOW! Super smooth ride and what SEEMED like more room. I feel like if it weren't for my long arms I would be able to hardly reach the radio to turn it on (it was off when I got on the bike.) the stock windshield sucks, I couldn't hear he radio at all while cruising above 55mph. The handling on the bike was amazing though. I am gonna take my bikes up there Saturday and see what they can do for my on a trade in.

It's my understanding that H-D is not producing 2014 Road Glides.

You are correct. An unintentional error but the sentiment of getting a new bike is there.
