Any issues with mixing tire brands?

I am interested in putting a Michelin Commander on the back of my10 EGC. The dealer tells me I will have performance issues especially in the rain since I have a Dunlap on the front. They said with different tread patterns the handling would suck. I have a 19" 3,5 on the front with 1K miles and a 180 on the back. Does it really matter? If you have mixed brands let me know what you think.

The dealer just wants you to buy that POS dunlop 408 or whatever they are. I run the dunlop American Elite and love them I had a blowout on the rear last year and the dealer out on a 408 and I couldn't wait for that thing to wear out so I could replace it with an AE. The only handling problem I had was the cupping that is inherent in the 408.

Ok, for all you disbelievers, I put a 120/70/21 Micheline Commander II on the front of my bike yesterday and am still running teh stock rear Dunlop. The bike actually handles a lot better now as the Com II tire is much better. I am sure when I do a rear wheel I'll do a matching tire but until then I am rolling with a Michelin front and a Dunlop rear. I'm tempted to sit at the dealer and show people so they don;t buy into the BS they spew.
That has to be one of teh worst sales tactics I have ever heard. And I am in sales but it makes sense to let customers decide what they want, not tell them what they can and can't do. In some instances it is smart to inform customers of potential issues (a tire that is too wide for a rim, etc) however this one still takes the cake.
