I read something somewhere about the longer shift lever requiring a different size linkage to prevent it wearing due to the change in function and increased load?

Wow. 14" is pretty long - where did you get yours from?

 

I got the same one. Have put one on each of my bikes. They just are out of stock so much. They must sell a lot of them. Excellent Product.

Just did this to my Softail Slim but with the stock levers. It's a lot more usable than the day I picked it up. I wear a size 13 boot and the Slim's floorboards aren't the biggest too. Still might try a 1" longer lever for the heel.

 

Drag Specialties has an extended heal toe shifter that measures 3.5" long. Part #1620-1130. $19.95 It's made by LA Choppers.
