Good write up, appreceate the info. Very nice set up. Now you need to fab up a GPS or storage box to cover that gaping hole in the fairing.

Looks great. But I cringe every time I see something stuck to a gas tank. The batwing will take care of that. You did a good job on the paint!

Haha. That's just Rustoleum. I discovered by accident a couple years ago that if you dilute it a little with mineral spirits, it will soak into the pores of the concrete and stick nicely. Covered my whole garage floor for $45. The nice thing is if it gets dinged up a little, I just touch up with more Rustoleum.

I put an HD Electa Glide chrome strip on the front of the fairing. Since the fairing is aftermarket, it's not a perfect fit. Close enough for now until I can figure out something better. Anyway, here is a couple pics in case anyone else has the aftermarket fairing and is wondering about fitment:

Here is a pic of the difference between the HD and aftermarket fitment in the corners:

Damnit! This thread is killing me. Its like you are laying out the perfect blueprint to **** off my wife.

Still, I love what you done and frankly just may steal most of your ideas. If you don't mind of course.

Forgot to mention, I put a LRS Ultra recurve on the fairing and the holes lined up almost perfectly. Curvature was a little off, but everything snugged up nicely when bolted down.

Looks great sir.

I think I would be looking for a way to mount an iPad/iPad-Mini on that dash. Would be WAY slick.

Great job.

I like that idea. I like that idea a lot!

Ice storm today, too cold and nasty to ride, so did a little wrenching. The area under the eBay fairing looked unfinished to me. Even after cutting the brackets that came with it, the stock headlight trim ring set back too far to my eye. Tried out this HD frenched ring. I think it fills out the area nicely. Going to do the passing lamps, too.
