2013 RGC or 2014 RK at same price?
Hey guys,
This has been driving me crazy for two weeks now. Dealer is offering me a '13 RGC and '14 RK at the same price. Neither has ABS or Security. Well actually the RK is a little more because it's Vivid black versus Big Blue Pearl for the RGC. I've ridden both and like both. Only a slight advantage in performance going to the RK. I prefer the riding position on the RGC. They both handled well, although I felt more confident on the RGC. Maybe because of my Sport Tourer background. I don't have plans for cross county touring now, but that may change as I'm about to join the Blue Knights. I like the radio and gauges on the RGC. Is the radio a must, probably not, but I like it. I like having the option of removing the windshield on the RK. I know the RGC is pretty much already outdated where the RK is all new. Cosmetically, I like both with maybe the slight edge going to the RK for its "all steel" look that should never look dated. In a perfect world I would have both. I'm just torn! Anyone else have to make this decision?
Thanks guys/gals

I went back and forth between the CVO RG and the CVO King, in the end the King won. It is a great all around bike and handles like a champ. I like being able to strip the front off and ride, the RG can't do that. I don't do lots of touring so that made my decision easier. Get which fits your riding plans the most. If you are gonna be on the superslab a majority of the time the RG is the way to go. If you are gonna be in town and about go for the RK. Good luck and post a pic of your decision.

Having owned both, the RGC is the way I would go.
The radio and guages are something you don't get on a Road King. The RGC handles much better on the highway with the shark nose. Around town with the frame mounted fairing, the RGC will be just as nimble as the Road King.
Resale will be better on the RGC if that matters to you..
The last thing is the the RGC's are just dead sexy and who doesn't want to ride a bike that is that good looking.
Good luck with your choice. You can't make a bad one, both are great bikes.

I would not get either because of the no ABS. When I bought my RK with ABS I thought it was a useless feature on a bike. A few months later ABS saved my life, I kid you not. The improved system on the 2014's is supposed to be even better and would be my main motivation for getting a new bike.
Good luck with the decision.
