Default Detachable tour pack kit

I have a 2001 elrctra glide P/I and I Purchased the tour pack for the back and I would like to make this detach just like my sissy bar. Thew hd site says this is for 2006 and later. Has anyone tried this on any earlier bikes? If so did you have to modify the kit or was it just bolt on Thanks

I have the detachable tour pack kit on a 2001 EG police. As long as you have the correct mounting hardware (this is the mounting points that actually stay permanently attached to the bike) the detach pack kit will work. The mounting points will also work with the detack luggage rack and passenger backrest. I will try to attach a couple pics of how the mounting points should attach and one with the luggage rack/backrest. I dont have a pic of the tour pak yet, but it mounts that same as the luggage rack.
