The limited is a nice bike. The 103 makes plenty of power. Having said that, I saw a lot of goodies missing on it that I have to have on my scoot so I would still buy the CVO. At the end of the day it's really about how you feel about the purchase. I highly recommend you walk around the CVO and the Limited and take a hard look at the extras and then decide if you can live without them. Best of luck.

I had an 06 ultra hopped up to 100hp 100 torque and currently own a 10 cvo stock. A broken in 110 stock pulls harder of the line. However. .... As I've said before I think the new 103 has better cam and air flow . It is very close to stock 110. Cvo not worth price difference imo. A few more amenities are nice but not worth 11k.

Agree on the motor comparison. Whole heartedly disagree on the price reference. Add up all the extras including custom paint and every piece of chrome, the motor, wheels, etc. Well worth the money. You'll spend much more if you buy a Limited and try to dress it up and in the end it's still a Limited.

Good point jswerve and I like your avatar!!! However. .. If you step all the way back and believe thata piece of Chrome is worth a hundred bucks then it may add up if u add in resale value. The amenities are very nice to have I agree but I wouldn't spend 40k on any bike again. Just me. I bet harley makes 20 k at that price. Harley has a lot of corporate over head That need not be there to produce the great bikes. Easy for me to sayi know as i bought one a few years ago. The heated grips and seat are awesome in spring and fall! That is all I would miss. The 14 limited has great features.

Cool

I haven't seen a 2014 CVO yet, but the previous models have had just too much bling for my taste. If I was in the happy position of being able to afford a new one, I would certainly buy an Ultra, then look at putting in a low CR S&S 124" with 585 cams. I'll take a sand over canyon brown one please, thanks.....

Pardon my post,

Not knocking the CVO's at all, they are to best the Motor Company makes, all the bells and whistles, best paint schemes.

Are they worth to money? Not in my opinion.

Resale value, doesn't become an issue unless you sell it. I tend to keep my bikes for a very long time. these 3 should last me the rest of my life. FYI, two of the three are "P" bikes that have even lower resale.

Buy what YOU like, add the mods You want and ride it.

That's my $0.02

Cudos to you sir. I know a lot of CVO owners who don't share the same sentiment as you. Hell, for that matter, I know a lot of Harley owners that look down on Non-Harley riders.

OP I agree with others, the Limited is the best bang for the buck in my eyes. Just can't see $11k + difference in the 2 bikes.

I owned a 07 CVO Ultra that I traded in on a 14 Limited:

My 07 CVO did loose more overall value than a 07 Ultra would have lost. I really don't think the trade-in value argument is the best reason to buy a CVO. If you want all the features on the CVO and feel totally comfortable with the money...Buy the CVO Limited. Great Bike and you can't come close to building the same bike for the same money.

If on the other hand; you are more like myself and feel that is just out of your comfort zone, the Ultra Limited comes with the "essentials". I really like the Limited paint options, the factory 103 HO actually runs great and puts out plenty of power IMHO. I am planning to add $2,000 in upgrades. That will make the Limited extremely close to the CVO. That will give you the XM Radio feature, all the Slipstream floorboards, the nicer tour rack in the back and a few other details.

The only major difference will be the heated seat and Lighted controls. All other differences will be cosmetic. Remember the higher CVO price is plus tax and Lic. In California that would be around 8% tax on the difference and a yearly lic. fee that will be about one third higher. If you finance, you need to add the additional interest.

Both are great bikes; good luck

Scott

I have gone both routes. I bought a base model SG in 09 and threw thousands into it and it was still just a base model 09 in vivid black come time to sell it. We don't have to agree, that's the great thing about America! Happy veterans day to my fellow vets!

i went from a 2010 road glide custom to a 2013 cv roadglide. my 2010 had the fm 107 kit in it and would definitely outrun the 110 i currently have. but, my 110 runs cooler, and will still get me from 0 to speeding ticket in about 2.5 seconds.

the cvo roadglide does not have a lot of chrome on it, that was the biggest drawback to the earlier cvo's (for me), but it does have a lot of upgraded items. the stereo is awesome, the extended saddlebags look great and hold a little more stuff, the wheels are great looking, and the paint is hot.

true that my cvo does not have the features that a limited has, but it also didn't have the price tag that the ultra cvo carries either.

a kia and a cadillac can both be nice cars. but once you own one over the other, you'll not want to go to a kia again. it's the same with the cvo.
