Default Street Glide Wheels - Polishing

I would like to get the "Road King Custom" look to my black Street Glide wheels. Someone has suggested to have the black paint glass beaded and then have the wheels polished.

Pros/Cons? Any thoughts on this? Would the bare metal be prone to corrosion?
