Should be less time for a Road King, then one with Bat Wing. Got mine done the same
time the dealer did the Recall Service, love the look of the 49 mm fork lowers in Chrome.

Get the Progressive Mono-tubes while it's apart.

You will not experience any more brake/nose dive and it rides much better by installing them.

The thing is, it's not how long it takes you to do it, it's really not even how long it takes the dealership to do it, it's about how many hours the dealership has it marked down as to charge you. They tend to try and charge the same across the board.

Default 2014 front ends

Installing the chrome front end on a 2014 is a bigger job than on other year models. More parts, hence more hours = more cost. About 3.5 to 4 hours.

You are Correct. The dealers are suppose to work out of the HD Flat Rate Manual. That way all the dealers are pretty much on the same page,

To Good Tech should turn 10 to 12 billable hours in an 8 hour day. Most receive a bonus on the hours turned in over 40.

The southern dealers have an advantage over the northern dealers. In the Deep South many riders ride all year. I'm one of them. But many of the northern riders have already stored the bikes for the winter.

So, the Northern dealers are running out of work, hence they will run specials to get the work in.

The dealer here offers winter specials... They don't drop their rates though... Just give you a special price on the overall job. Thats why I'm trying to package the two jobs. And you guys are right... Doesnt really matter how ling it takes... They just have a time they bill for a particular job...internally wired apes on a bagger = 7 hours for example

I get a lot of my parts online through Surdyke or one of the other 20% off US retailers. I bring em in and get em installed if its something I dont feel comfortable with doing myself
