Its WAY better than finger prints on that crappy stock inner fairing finish.

I have about 300 miles on my SGS and I am surprised the painted inner hasn't bothered me. I am one of the strange ones that prefers the matte.

I love my stock inner fairing. Its got these cool custom clouds in it. I didn't even have to pay extra for them either..... It's getting ready for paint, it just dosen't know it.

Reflection is not a problem. Dunno why people think it is.

IMO I think they make the fairing look finished. My bike is rarely parked outside, unless I'm on the road. When I'm home I park in my garage out of the sun. I average well over 10,000 miles/year. The bike is now 4 years old and I have noticed the fatory inner fairing starting to fade on the high-side (right side) from the sunlight. I have tried quite a few ideas from wax to black shoe polish to make the fade disappear to no avail. I noticed quite of few unpainted fairings show signs of fading. I was wondering if painting the fairing would solve the problem or if someone else would have a solution.
Ive used a product called "Wipe New" on my 07 and on my Jeep wrangler bumpers. Product works well for bringing it back close to new...
