Default Tire blow out at 75 mph 2-up...

It gets your attention. Kept it upright. Was looking forward to a nice day in Big Bear Lake, CA. Instead, spent 90 minutes on the side of the freeway waiting for a tow. Bought my ESP with tire and wheel just in time! Dealer told me it just saved me $350.00. I was just under 100 miles from dealer. Dealer reminded me that I have 200 mile tow with my ESP, as well as hotel and rental. I used my AAA which give me 100 mile tow. Ford pickup stopped to ask if I needed any help or could he stay with us until help arrived.... must have seen at least 2 dozen Harley's go by without stopping. A few gave me a thumbs up asking if we were OK. 2 CHP officers stopped to help. Gave me a traffic break to get to the other side of the freeway since i was pulled over on the left side of the HOV lane. Just learned that there's now a $50 deductible on the tire and wheel coverage. That just started about 2 months ago. All in all, things turned out pretty well.

As my wife always says, prepare for the worst but hope hope for the best. She's pretty smart.

Default Blow out

Sorry to hear it. I had a blow out about 1 1/2 years ago the night before Easter. I was in the middle of nowhere and it ruined my day.

Had to camp out for a couple of days before I could get it fixed.

Did you have any problem controlling it? I've never had an issue controlling a bike when I've had a flat. If the tire comes off the bead, I think it would be an issue pretty quick, but that's never happened to me.

thanks, guys. I'm running the dunlop tires. BTW, with HD's tire and wheel, you have to run with dunlop tires... at least that's what I've been told. Got called an hour ago that the bike is ready. I've had a couple drinks, so I'll pick it up tomorrow.

First I've heard of that...they replaced a non Harley tire and a wheel for my son-in-law a month or so back.

Glad you're ok. I was thinking about riding up to Big Bear today. I'm amazed that none of the tire manufacturers have come out with run flat tires for bikes.

Yeah, you have to run their tires...

I blew one last summer at about 80. Kinda sucks.

Glad to hear y'all are OK!!
