Default Help with new noise???

My bike just started making a whining noise, sounds like a turbine or a skill saw. I noticed it at around 30-40 and then it would die down as I slowed to a stop??? Pull the clutch in same noise. Bike has around 12k 06 EGC with stage one. Any help would be appreciated.

06? Usual suspects cam chain tensioners should be checked, (but at 12,000 miles that would be a record for early failure.) '06's also didn't have the '07 and later primary issues but inner primary bearings do fail sometimes. Comp nuts loose would also give a knocking sound at idle though.

What side of the bike is whining?

Hard to tell, it's not a loud whine, could be coming from the front... It was fine then about 20 minutes I heard it and didn't know wth it was.. Thought I would come here first .

Shouldn't be 6500 miles so far this year and never heard it before or did I adjust anything?

I had a similar noise coming from my front end, turned out to be the brake pads.

I thought that at first, but the whine is the same braking or not. And I think if it was the wheel bearing braking would change the sound also.

Update on noise, still getting it at around 30-40 but if I give it some gas it goes away, let off gas comes back, pull clutch in goes away most of the time. Buddy said check the drive belt and primary chain tension??
