Don't spill the fluid on your paint. It will ruin your day!!

My wife just bought one of the last anniversary Super Glide Customs in the state and the front brake handle needs to be pumped 5-6 times to firm up after sitting overnight, do I just need to bleed out some air or is it an abs thing?

Could be air trapped in the ABS housing. That was my experience with the same issue on a 2011….I bleed them but with no luck…..Dealer ended up doing with the there digital tech set up……..No problems since that….You could check all the banjo connections also….

If you've got a brake bleeder it won't hurt to try it. If that don't take care if it take it back to the dealer and have them fix it.

Pretty sure if you're bleeding the brakes as described, you are not changing the fluid in the ABS pump. Without any actuation, you're bypassing the pump where the old fluid continues to live. Since the purpose of changing brake fluid is to restore boiling point by removing water (and also preventing rust in the system), it seems you wouldn't want to ignore the only expensive component in the chain.

But he isn't changing the fluid. It's a brand new bike. Just bleeding the brakes.

There is air in the system. Make sure you bleed the lines completely before you mess with the ABS. My be is that Abs has nothing to do with it...

Most important thing to remember. ABS bikes are NOT, repeat NOT D.O.T 5!!!! Do not put DOT5 in your ABS bike. DOT4 , DOT4, DOT4!!!!!!!!!
