Default lookin to upgrade cams

My bike is a 2007flhx I'm lookin to pull the trigger on a set of cams. I ride one up most of the time with the wife riding sometimes I want a good sound and pull from idle to 4 or 5 grand. The motor is more less stock with a stage one. I like what I read about the s&s 551. Not a lot of good info on the sight on this cam is there a reason I wouldn't be happy with this cam

Consider Andrews also. Lots of happy campers with those too. 26 or 48's will do you good too....

Woods and Andrews get more play around here because they are very good. S&S 551 is a good very low end/torque cam, almost down to 255 level. Meaning it will drop off early around 4500. I would recommend Andrews 48 in your late 88 maybe even woods 222 or fueling 525 since ya ride solo.

Andrews 48, a real stump puller but still has a nice "on the cam" feel at higher RPM's.

No compression releases needed with an Andrews 48.

most of the video is them tuning it on the dyno but if you watch to the end they start it up in the showroom. No starter laboring at all.

That helps a lot I know there's prob a lot of people running cams with no compression release.

The only major difference is the 551 is 7 degrees more advanced on the INtake. It has 91 intake cl and the 48 has 98. This gives the S&S 6 degrees more overlap which moves it a couple hundred rpms to the right and will lope little more. Other than that they are about the same.
