Removing stuff baked on heat shields?
I need some some suggestions on how to remove some stuff burned on to my exhaust heat shields:
Boot mark. I tried the MOCos boot heel remover stuff with no success.
Oil. I had some oil puke out of my stage 1 AC, and it is cooked onto the exhaust shield nicely.
Don't want to use anything that will scratch, mar, dull, discolor, or otherwise molest the chrome finish.
Anyone have suggestions.
Thanks,
Jeff

I use 0000 steel wool and turtle chrome polish on all my tarnished chrome (previous owner didnt care too much about cleaning a bike) and also my heat shield stains. Has not messed up the finish at all just make sure there is plenty of polish some will say do not use an abrasive such as steel wool but ive had good luck with it
