100,000 miles on a Road King :)
Well guys/gals I just turned 100,000 miles on the Road King about an hour ago. What an amazing and wonderful experience it's been. I couldn't be happier with this bike, it's been absolutely reliable all the way. Just routine maintenance except the Compensator was replaced twice (and Rotor once) under warranty, the Wheel Bearings once each and a new Starter at about 75,000.
WooHoo!!!!

Just curious but what is a compensator? Also where they primarily hwy or city miles? Paint and chrome look great so I am assuming you park indoors. My 09 has fewer miles but the finish looks like crap, in comparison to yours, now after sitting out in the sun and rain for the duration of the riding season. Some cosmetic rust too. Do you have any issues with oil consumption as mine has started to burn 1/4-1/2 quart between changes.

Thanks guys, yes it's been a great ride.
Ref some of the questions asked above...
- It's a 2009 Calif model that I bought in early December 2008. It ran bone stock for about the first 50,000 or so miles, then I began a gradual Stage I and added the FCS and Jagg Oil Cooler.
- Compensator? I'm not sure how to describe what the compensator is, but it's in the clutch housing area. I'm sure some of the other members here can describe what a compensator is. Oh and they replaced the rotor too one time (it's right there next to the compensator, but again not sure what that does either, lol).
- Yes I keep it in a garage and it's also parked indoors when I go to work, so fortunately it doesn't sit in the weather at all except when being ridden.
- Yes, the vast majority are freeway miles cruising at 75 mph or so.
- Oil Consumption? It uses about 1 quart between 5,000 mile oil changes (almost all freeway mileage on a 135 mile/day commute in So Cal).
Any issues I've had were fixed under the extended warranty that I bought with it. I've had no problems at all with ESP service.
It's had about 5 or 6 sets of tires on it and the battery was replaced at around 75,000 miles.
The drive belt is original. The motor and tranny have never had any problems at all - just the compensator/rotor which seem to be a weak point in the '09 bikes.

I'm going to try like hell to catch up to you! Only have 90k miles to go! So far I have had a turn signal bulb burn out. Damn lemon? I do spread my miles out around a few bikes. Better park them a few years and get going to 100K.
How is it running/riding after 100k?
