Default Looking to add Progressive 444's and Monotubes.. Advice Wanted

Howdy. Well, after further review, looks like I want to upgrade the suspension, and avoid air shocks.

When I asked "what would give me the best ride" this is the basic answer I got (Progressive's) Yes, there may be very expensive alternatives, but this appears to be a solid upgrade.

I am new to this. Any advice on "444's" or other options, and the front end Monotubes?

I have a 2012 CVO Road Glide Custom, it is 12" stock rear-shocked now.
It bottoms out so hard on the freeway that it knocks out the cruise control.

I ride very conservative and am 5'11, 195, no passengers ever. SOLO only.

Thanks folks !

Well, I should have "searched" first.
Lots of info out there. Looks like these will be a great combo!
If I knew how to delete this original post, I would.

Thanks folks.

That is the combination I have and I am happy with it.
The elimination of the fork dive is the biggest improvement and not having to check air pressure in the rears for leaks.
I did have to dial the rears up stiffer than what was recommended to give me the ride I wanted. Too soft and you will be wallowing all over the road.

Hey, thanks. I am about 190-195 lbs, and with the tourpack I will be adding way over the 200lb mark.

Should I get the heavy-duty springs. I read that they are recommended if you are usually near 200lbs...

I just dont want a stiff ride, but I dont want a squishy ride either.

Any advice?

Default Nope..

I would not get the stiff springs. It's not why I bought a RK. They will always swap them if need be.

Thanks. I will keep that in mind. Would be nice to get the standard springs and try them out. I will ask what a swap out would cost.
Good plan. Thanks

Progressive will swap them out for free. You just have to pay for shipping each way. They will ask you to provide a purchase receipt. Maybe that figures into them charging for a swap or not charging.

Great ! Can if I go with the standard shock would bottoming out be the sign that I need the HD shock?

Or would the ride in general suffer..? (and bottom out on occasion) ?

Thanks

I'm 195lbs and have the standard spring.
I have it set stiffer than the setting guide but still have lots of adjustment left.
I have a detachable tourpack and have loaded it up pretty good and never had a problem, but I always ride solo

We are the same! Thank you for this. Looks like I will go with the standard too.
