Are you sure your scoot has a sealed beam headlight? Most of the time they are a changeable bulb only. Anyway if it is changeable look into installing a Sylvania Silver-Star 9003 bulb. This is the same bulb as the H-4 that's normally installed but is considerably brighter with a whiter light then the stock yellowish halogen bulb. I've been running this bulb for the past year and love the job it does in lighting up the road in front of me. Sylvania just came out with their Ultra brand bulbs but so far they do not make one with the metal three-prong base we need for our bikes. When and if they bring that bulb out to fit I'll install one in my scoot...

Silver Starsare"whiter". The light from them willlight up the road better. The 9003ST is the same wattage as your stock bulb, which is 55/60. I run them in my Jeep and truck and really like them. I just put one in my RKC last night. It definitely is "whiter" and very noticeable from the front compared to the two spots, which are not the stockers. I swapped out my stock spots for some clear aircraft landing lights. They put out an intense beam. You can get them at NAPA for about 9 bucks. I use the same wattage as the stocker, which is 30 watts. I tried some in 100 watts, but found that the blinded on coming traffic.
You can get more powerfull H-4 bulbs that will go in your bike. I run a 90/130 in my Sporty. It is much brighter than the stock RKC bulb or the Silver Star I put in last night.

Squishface, not that I am cheap, but I am not stupid either, been reading a lot of posts and there are not that many people preferring the HID to the above mentioned bulbs, cheaper and better, more $ left for Harley chrome and mustang seat.. Thanks guys I will tear out the light snd see if it is a sealed beam, if not I will go with the Silver Star.

I think HID is great for a car, however, I had HID on an R-1 and it was a bad surprise on twisty roads, cloverleafs, or any other high-lean turn at night (until you learn the click the hi-beam on first). Bright light "under" the line, darkness above the line. In a prefect (tucker) world the bike version of HID would correct according to lean angle. Other than that, HID is a blaring laser light at night and a great system for a car.

OK...The ONLY way to get MORE light out there is something like this;

Anything else just don't cut it. I had them and it made a big difference. Just be ready to up grade the plug and maybe the wiring too.
Don't fall for the PIAA hype- You don't get more light, just whiter. Which your eyes perceive as brighter.
Or you can go here and read more then you need to know about lighting;

I have the dual bulb HD light now and hated it! Retro'd to an HID low beam after loosing 2 PIAAs.But thats another story...
