Default 2014- Ride to Daytona and take a chance or wait?

I have a trip planned to Biketoberfest. I leave tomorrow and stay through the weekend. Would you go even with the looming clutch recall or would you wait and get the bike fixed?

Just looking for other peoples perspectives.

Go and if your clutch goes out while there, any dealer will come get it for free. You'll just have to get it when it is done like anything else...
I have 900 miles on mine and it only went bad once.

I would go. If you do break down, get it fixed on the road somewhere.

I joined this forum a few weeks after I bought my 08 SG. If I had joined before I bought, I would've passed on the deal because of all of the doom and gloom about the 08's. I sat here for a few winter months reading and worrying what was going to go wrong with my bike once riding season got here.

Five and a half years and 50,000 miles later, I had my first issue. The battery gave out.

This is the best bike I have ever owned and I like more than any I have ever rode.

Enjoy your bike. Don't worry about stuff you can't control until it happens.

Now that you posted it up its on you. You should have just gone but now if you crash and die or kill someone else you have made the decision not the MOCO....

This is a very accurate statement.

That depends on how good a rider you think you are. If the clutch goes, the only way to stop is to use the kill switch, since you won't be able to disengage the clutch.

Mine went out after we stopped for breakfast Tuesday AM. I was able to pump up the clutch enough to get it in gear with the engine running & then carefully rode it to my dealer. They replaced the master cylinder, bled the system & got me back on the road yesterday.

Today, they're telling me the fix this week doesn't cover the recall repairs needed & don't ride the bike...

# 1 your just riding across the width of a skinny state not from Colorado to Daytona take 5 minutes stop at one of the 20 dealers along the way ask them to check your clutch out
I would suggest you pay attention to DO NOT RIDE on the recall but if you are goonna go stop for a 5 minute check up

There is nothing to check before you go or out on the road.
It goes all at once or at least mine did.

I would just ride, would not allow it to ruin my trip
