I'm planning on using all HD parts from an 06 SG on an 02 RG. Will I have to fill holes and paint fender? I know the fender extension will have to be painted.

Anybody done this?

 

Yes, I've done it on an 07 FLHTC, and you will need a SG fender or you'll need to fill holes. The Electra Glide and Road King fenders have "extra" holes in the bottom for the lower fender light that the FLHX doesn't have. I bought a FLHX fender on ebay along with the filler panel/skirt with the 3-bar light.

I've recently replaced the fender, filler/skirt, and all the lights with a fender from Native Custom Baggers. I will be selling it as a unit, if you're interested. Its all Vivid Black and in very good condition.

 

The rear fenders are interchangeable but not identical. Yours has holes and dents, to take the light bar, which an SG doesn't have. Take a look at an SG, if you come across one, to see how they are different. A secondhand SG fender would be my choice.
