I got $16,500 for my 2011 FLTRU a month and a half ago here in San Antonio...

Close to 30k on the clock.

I got $8,000 for the '09 Deluxe, and it was damaged.

I stopped by my dealer the other day to pick up an accessory for my Sportster and I was surprised to see the number of used Touring bikes. I asked one of the sales guys and he implied that there are a lot of guys trading in the for 2014 models.

I hope trades keep coming in for new bikes, because I'd love to get a great deal on a gently used Street Glide next year.

Yea for goodness sake don't trade it to a dealer. Sell it privately if you want to maximize your sale price. Then take your time and find a good deal with cash in hand.

If you don't want to sell it yourself. Take a ride to Daytona during bike week. Have title in hand at Rossmeyers.

I have heard during the big rallys it's a good time to wheel and deal.

I got $13,000 out of my 99 ultra with sidecar in 2011 on trade for a 2012 SG in Tampa. Jims offered me $5000 for the set up they didn't want to work with me and they wanted more for the same bike I bought in Tampa. go elsewhere my friend!

The question is not "how much did you get for a trade in?" The question is "how much did you get in trade compared to the kbb trade in value?"

I have a 2012 fatboy lo that I'm thinking of trading for a 14 SGS. Kbb says trade in is $12,325 and retail is $16,420. That's about $4k difference. Bit since I am in Nevada, I wouldn't pay sales tax on my trade value. That's about $1k of tax that I will pay it I sell my fatboy and pay cash for the new bike. This makes trading a bit more palatable in Nevada.

So... What are you guys getting for trade compared to kbb?
