Default Just picked up a 2014 Street Glide

Well as the title says I just picked up my 2014 Street Glide and I LOVE it!!! I dread the break in period having to baby the bike as the salesman said but I can tell this bike will be my favorite yet! The new Project Rushmore improvements are really nice and make this bike that much better than my 2007 Street Glide.

Congrats, I have had mine 6 weeks and already logged over 4500 miles. You'll truly enjoy you new Harley and like you I hated that "break-in" period as I desperately wanted to take a few LONG trips. After the break-in it has been ON, to the point the wife of 23 years has went off on me. Threatened divorce if I did not sell the bike, make a decision either marriage & family or the Harley. Let's just say I just got back from another 1600+ mile ride last night

I sat on a 2013 SG that fit me perfectly. Dealer said 22k plus taxes, title , etc, etc bone stock. I can get a brand new car for that. Sorry I won't pay over 10k for a motorcycle. I got a basically new XL for 4500 and i'll find me a basically brand new SG for 10k at some point #garagequeen

What is this "break in period" you speak of? Ride it from day one how its going to ridden on your daily basis. If you always run em through the gears then do it now.

Congrats on the new ride. Always the down payment on making it your own!!

My dealer suggested that I dont hold hold at high RPM for long periods and vary the RPM for break in for the first couple of tanks of fuel. He didn't say to necessarily baby it but I like to let everything seat and mesh without too much stress but we all got to play with our new toys!
