14 Batwing Fairing. How's The Buffeting? Is It Gone?
#4
I've got about 5200 miles on my '14 Limited. The buffeting is GONE. Even in some high crosswinds across New Mexico on a trip last month, no problems. The MOCO did a great job with this one.
Also, I love finally being able to look over a windshield...I'm not that tall...5'9" on a good day...and always had to look THROUGH a standard windshield...now, even with the much shorter windshield, I've got no buffeting issues whatsoever, and neither does my wife on the passenger perch.

I'm 6' tall. With the vent open and stock shield, bufetting was not bad up to 60 or so. 70+ still sucked. Changed to a 7" LRS and life is good. Glasses stay still and the wind on the ears is much less. I can run at 75-80 with the radio at half volume. I could easily see over an 8 or 9" shield no problem but it is not needed. I do also have a backres and sit up very straight.

Im 6-02 and the buffeting is very mild now. It's 100% better than it was on my 2010 Limited. Id bet that the buffeting is pretty much eliminated for shorter riders. I plan on getting me a little taller windshield soon. I have to admit that HD did a great job on the design of the new batwing fairing.

Thanks for your reply. I am 5'9" also. What do you mean by "much shorter windshield"? What do you have on your bike now?
