1" floorboard extender scraping?
I couldn't find any recent threads on this subject so I thought I would ask. Do any of you that used to scrape floorboards a bit before the extenders were put on find the bike less safe now that they are on?
The reason I ask is there are two corners that I scrape on every day to and from work. One is just a turn, the other is a side street entrance that rises as I turn and it's hard not to scrape.
I would really like to extend the floorboards so my big 'ole feet can sit on the boards better but don't want the brackets hitting and causing a low side.
Thanks!
Spike

I have the 1" extenders and I rarely scrap my footboards. That said, I am not that aggressive in the corners. You will scrap the outer edge of the footboards before you scrap the bracket as the bracket location does not change, just the footboards. As they hinge up you will not low side, unless you really put it over beyond the point that your footboards hinge up.

I put the SOOS 1" extensions on and yeah I scrape the edges a little as I tend to be a bit aggressive in the corners sometimes. Never felt like it would heel over though.
Upside is it tends to keep the OL from nodding off in the turns and I can always shave with the right floor board if I forget a razor on a trip

I have ground down the right board bracket down pretty good. Seems like the right is worse for me but could just be mind riding style? I find the bracket hits before the board but they could be moving up. I can post a pix later as its ground down pretty good. I think they need to move up and out a little. I have a Soos 1" kit but I think any 1" kit would do the same. I would not say I aggressive but I grew up on crotch rockets and MX so I like to lean it a little and I feel it hits before it should.
