When my 2013 RKC went to the dealer for the 1000K service I had syn 3 put in all three holes. After that I could never find neutral without turning off the engine. Shifting gears made a big clunk sound and had a harsh engagement.
Based on reading of this forum I drained the syn 3 out of the primary, leaving the other two holes as is, and put in one quart of 20w50 V-twin dino oil. Looking in through the derby hole the oil level was up to the bottom of the clutch basket as shown in the shop manual.
Since then I can always find neutral at a stop light without turning off the engine. Shifts are snick snick quiet and smooth. So for what it's worth that's my experience. I'll keep going this way.
