Default What Exactly Does the Battery Charging Harness on the 2014's do?

I purchased a 2014 SG and was reading about the new features before I purchased it and remember reading about the "battery charging harness" being a standard feature. On my previous bike which was a Wide Glide I would always keep it on a "trickle charge." What exactly is the "battery charging harness" on these new bikes? I'm not familiar with it or what it's purpose is. The dealer never mentioned it when I was purchasing the bike. Thanks!

Think of it as a "trickle charging harness".
Unless I missed something on the 2014's.

So basically it's a "pig tail" just tucked away rather than exposed?

That's what I will probably do. Did the older models not have this? Thanks for all the replies!

It was usually a dealer installed option in the past. I didn't know it was installed behind the side cover on the '14s. What a stupid place to put it. ****, you could get directly to the battery terminals almost as easily as removing the saddle bag and side cover.
