What Exactly Does the Battery Charging Harness on the 2014's do?
#61
My dealer pointed out that a battery tender plug was on the bike from the factory now and its made into the wiring harness itself and not hooked directly to the battery. Can use it for heated gear and charge the battery. Had my plug tie wrapped to the bracket the seat strap screws to. Lost the seat strap but kept the bracket to keep the plug in a nice handy spot.

I cant seem to send you a PM despite being a member for over a month now and 7 posts... I must be doing something wrong. Anyway, my email address is AndrewTurner(at)Chevrondotcom I really appreciate your help especially as I've flattened my battery yet again with this damn keyless fob :-(

A bit of an old post but I have a question for some of you. Has anyone been using the factory pigtail to power heated gear? Any problems? I have a 2014 Police Electra Glide and I have the service manual as well as the police bike supplement. I can confirm that the batt tender harness shows as coming off of the 20 amp P&A fuse. So it should work but I just wanted to see what people's experience has been.
Thanks.
Thanks.

It's coming off of a 20 amp circuit but it should have a inline fuse with a fuse that is prob about 5 amp. Look real close to the wire to see the gauge of the wire. To be a real 20 amp circuit the wire will have to be 12 gauge.
I fo the opposite, I have the heated gear and have that wiring mounted to the battery. I bought a adaptor for the tender wite and plug the tender into the heated gear plug.
