What Exactly Does the Battery Charging Harness on the 2014's do?

As far as your arrogant reply, I always treat this site as a place to HELP others and gain great input not HATE on others. Your narcissistic attitude gets very little respect in my world when it's done behind a keyboard. The best of luck carrying on in this manor.

Can you check your wiring diagram in your owner's manual and see what size fuse is used on this harness? Heated gear takes over 17 amps (coat and pant liner and gloves). Gerbing's harness has a 20 amp fuse. A Battery Tender Plus is 1.25 amps, and their harness only has a three amp fuse. The harness my dealer had put on my '06 was heavier than a Battery Tender's, and has a 7.5 amp fuse.
If Harley wired this in heavy enough to use also for heated gear, that's a big plus.

radio power - 20A
system power - 7.5A
battery - 5A
P&A - 20A
cooling - 10A
main - 50A
P&A relay
cooling relay
spares - 5A, 7.5A, 20A
no visible inline fuse on the charging pig tale

The tread is 3 pages long. Apparently others felt the same or had some unanswered questions. Of course it makes complete sense that a Battery Charging Harness charges the battery. My previous bike (2011 Wide Glide) came equipped with a pig tail. I assumed all bikes did. When Harley made it a point that the Battery Charging Harness is a "NEW FEATURE" on the 2014's I got a little confused and thought it might do more than what one would assume it does.

My dealer pointed out that a battery tender plug was on the bike from the factory now and its made into the wiring harness itself and not hooked directly to the battery. Can use it for heated gear and charge the battery. Had my plug tie wrapped to the bracket the seat strap screws to. Lost the seat strap but kept the bracket to keep the plug in a nice handy spot.
does any body know if one is sold.
Also is it direct to the battery as previous post stated a 7A fuse but the in-line fuse on the garbing is 15A

Jacket: 6.4 amps
Pants 3.6 amps
Gloves 2.2 amps
Socks 2.2
Total Draw 14.4 amps . You would need at least a 15 amp fuse. New style heated gear usually has a coax connector.
Coax to Flat adapters are available. I replaced the light battery tender harness with the heavy Gerbing, and using the adapter I can hook up my Battery Tender.

I have the gerbing harness. Just picked up my 14 limited, asked the dealer to put the gerbing harness on. He just put the adapter on the tender harness and changed the fuse to the 15a fuse. So there must be a fuse someplace for that. I asked about the wire size, said no issue.
Thanks

There are all kinds of things you can attach to the plug if it's "battery tender" compatable.

My wife has a cigarette lighter plug on it for her trike. She uses it to charge her mp3 player while on the road.
I have thought about using one for my cell phone (which I play pandora on). The built in cigarette lighter plug has a lot of "noise" on it. I wonder if the direct to battery connection might give me cleaner DC power. I haven't done it due to the length of audio cord I would need to "sit on" to get there and back to the CD port on the radio. Now a moot point since I will be getting a 2014 Limited.

I will get the part number for the adapter, 6 dollars is the cost, and where the fuse goes the next time I am at dealer. Which will be Saturday or Monday depending upon weather.
