If you do, then you might be mistaken; it's only an extension for connecting a battery tender. Trying to plug it into another bike's tender pig tale will cause evil things to happen: polarity of connectors on the bikes will always have negative (ground) contact on the pig tale's exposed lead & one end or the other would have to get plugged in with reversed polarity.
My dealer pointed out that a battery tender plug was on the bike from the factory now and its made into the wiring harness itself and not hooked directly to the battery. Can use it for heated gear and charge the battery. Had my plug tie wrapped to the bracket the seat strap screws to. Lost the seat strap but kept the bracket to keep the plug in a nice handy spot.
What exactly is the "battery charging harness" on these new bikes? I'm not familiar with it or what it's purpose is. The dealer never mentioned it when I was purchasing the bike. Thanks!
Seriously? Battery charging harness....Hmmmm, maybe it CHARGES THE BATTERY? I cant believe you created this thread!

Seriously? A harness that charges a battery. I thought the harness was installed to facilitate hooking up a battery tender. I can't believe you responded with such a BS answer.
It was usually a dealer installed option in the past. I didn't know it was installed behind the side cover on the '14s. What a stupid place to put it. ****, you could get directly to the battery terminals almost as easily as removing the saddle bag and side cover.
That crack MOCO engineering team was working overtime on that one, weren't they?

Can you check your wiring diagram in your owner's manual and see what size fuse is used on this harness? Heated gear takes over 17 amps (coat and pant liner and gloves). Gerbing's harness has a 20 amp fuse. A Battery Tender Plus is 1.25 amps, and their harness only has a three amp fuse. The harness my dealer had put on my '06 was heavier than a Battery Tender's, and has a 7.5 amp fuse.
If Harley wired this in heavy enough to use also for heated gear, that's a big plus.
