I'm using a Hawk modular with the Harley premium headset works great. My only complaint is that the headset really has no bass.Probably not a bad thing in my case as I'm slowly going deaf anyway.I also have a Outlaw 3/4 that I wear when it's warm.It has no headset but would definitely work with one if I chose to put one in.And yes I realize that the headsets are not an option for everybody unless your bike is wired for intercom. But they do work pretty good and can be had fairly cheap in the classifieds.

I bought 2 Bilt Modular Helmet w/out bluetooth from Cycle Gear last week. A large for me and Med for my wife and daughter when they ride with me. I did not want the bluetooth as I have two other Bilt FF helmets w/ Bluetooth and they are not as functional as I expected them to be and the built in speakers suck. I added in the Harley premium headset and the connector to my '14 Street Glide Special and I am most pleased and satisfied. This is the setup I would highly recommend. An aftermarket audio hookup is going to be MUCH better than a built in one. I just got back last night from a trip to Loveland, CO from Las Vegas, NV about 1600+ miles round trip and rode through high winds (big rig was blown over and I was thrown across freeway), rain (for 350 miles), snow (for about 75 miles) and ice covered road using my Harley headset in this modular helmet the entire way. I had my GPS set and was bouncing back and forth between XM radio and my iPod by simply pressing the voice button on the left and "telling" the system to switch stations and playlists. The system worked perfectly and the sound was good. Not quite as much bass as I usually prefer but in the helmet to much bass makes it hard to hear talk radio or news channels which I listen to quite often. Yes there is more wind noise in a modular helmet than FF but once I had the volume about 1/2 to 5/8 no wind noise at all and the audio sound was great. Only cranked it up to full volume when I felt like music. Modular is great as it makes stopping for a drink or fill up simple without removing the helmet. During the snow riding the inside of the screen fogged up so it was simply to flip that up to wipe clean and then had it open a crack and no more fogging. Taking the helmet off was so much easier than a FF because of the easy flip up. Although I still have the FF helmets I never will use them now after putting the Bilt modular through a truly good test of over a 1600+ mile trip through some $hitty weather. Not heavy so my neck never got tired, head never got cold, ears didn't ring, I enjoyed the audio and it was so simple to take off or keep on when stopping. The internal "sunglass" was great for the sunny riding but even better when the sun was going down while inbound to Vegas and in my face, a quick flick of the switch and sun was no longer a problem. Once the sun was down a quick flick of the switch and back to clear windshield. Modular with sunglass at only $99 is a great deal on a good helmet. Enough so that I bought a 2nd for the wife and daughter. I highly recommend...

Here is the helmet I purchased. Worked great for me and I would recommend it highly.
