Default Updating my 06 Electra Glide ?

I bought an 07 engine from a friend thinking it would drop right into my 06.

I am hearing now that it won't bolt up because the trans bolt up is different ?
So I got two questions.

1. Will the 07 bolt up to the 06 trans ?
2. If I need to buy a 6 speed, will the 07 engine and trans fit the 06 chassis ?

Thanks in advance ........

Bob

Are you going to keep the 06 forever? I do believe that the 07 motor and 07 trans will fit in your frame , but your engine will no longer match the frame numbers, and it could be a headache to sell.
I am curious why you didn't rebuild your 06 engine?

Sell the 07 engine and use the proceeds to upgrade your current engine. That will give you least problems and best return in performance terms. A stock 07 engine is slightly bigger in capacity but not significantly better in performance, certainly not enough to swap engines over, with all the extra expense and effort of doing that - if it will work!

The 07 trans bolts up to the engine in a way that eliminates all the oil pipes and the 06 and 07 parts will not mix. It may be possible to buy and install an 07 trans and fit the complete assembly in your bike, but that seems like a lot of work and expense for little reward.

Thank you guys - I'm going to sell the 07 motor and upgrade mine. More than the performance issue I want to upgrade the tensioners and oil pump. I guess the best route is the HD upgrade kit !
