I'm a foreigner (Canadian) so I don't bear loyalty to any particular tuning product or tuner but I will say this.......and you can all deny it if you want:

1. PPl in the Midwest, North, Eastern States seem to prefer Fuel Moto and what Jamie has tried to do for his customers!

2. PPl on the CVO sites, Arizona, Caly and Southwest think the sun shines out of Steve's *** at Fullsac.

3. PPl in the Gulf States and Florida swear by the magic that supposedly Doc does.....

I will tell you one thing.....I have never read or heard Jamie or his staff at FM berate or put down someone else's work or product. I, however cannot say the same for the other 2. Don't believe me.....check out the posts on CVO Harley sometime.

Deal with whomever you want, but as someone wiser than me stated " Don't be an asshat and come on this forum pissing and whining if you haven't had the decency to give your original vendor the opportunity to make things right." That's just wrong and chicken-**** to boot!

Default PC-V or PV?

I had oil temps that exceeded 300 degrees! I couldn't believe it! I asked the "expert" service staff at HD Orlando East, and they said suuuure! 300 is normal! yeah right!

There was nothing I could do, so as a last resort I broke down and took that poor bike to get a dyno tune on my PC-V.

We pulled the 02 sensors and the front sensor was black and sooty. The rear sensor was pure white!

The "Map" was pure junk. That is all I will say. I know that you fuel moto loyalists will flame me but so what.

The bike now runs awesome and the oil temp does not exceed 230 degrees.

My point is that you cannot get a map from anyone, no matter what they promise you, your'e gonna have to get your bike tuned where you live so you know what is in your tuner. I am not saying that Fuel Moto is at fault, only that you have to do things yourself if you want it right. Lesson learned.
Do you have a Power Commander 5 or a Power Vision? If you have a Power Vision, I'll bet your O2 sensors were crossed. If they get crossed, the ECM will make one cylinder run rich and one run lean whenever it's in closed loop.

Nope, I had the PC-V with the O2 sensors unplugged. The sensors were still in pipes though.

Without knowing all of the specifics it is difficult to speculate why the PC-V we set up did not work correctly, there are many possibilities such as the map, throttle position settings, etc.. however the first step to straightening things out would have been contacting us for assistance. Having supported 50,000+ customers with fuel maps and EFI tuning over the past decade we have ran into nearly every tune situation and are here and willing to support our customers to the highest level. Our technical staff comes in early & stays late everyday supporting the products we carry by phone, email, live chat, and if necessary we can even control your computer remotely, you just have to give us the opportunity. Also note that you did not purchase a map, you purchased a tuning component toolset, the map we provide and any additional support we offer comes free. In the end i'm glad your bike is now running properly, just wish you would have gave us a shout out for help. If in the future you need any assistance you are welcome to contact us anytime.

Dynotuning with a competent tuner is the only way to get it 100% right.

All you people with canned maps can settle for pretty good, but you will never know awesome until you try it.
Exactly my opinion as well. There is no substitution for putting YOUR bike on the dyno & having it tuned properly by a competent tuner. There are just too many variables using a canned map IMO.

I looked for the dyno sheet for my stock bike as it came from Harley and still can't find it. You know so many variables and all it must have a custom map.

I believe if you want EVERY pony after serious mods... yeah Dyno. But canned maps are fine for those of us just with A/C and Pipes. Nothing worth dyno-ing there.
