1997 Ultra Classic 80" Evo. Stock except American Custom slip one with the mid rang baffles, 48k. Gives me 45-48 every day. 55-65 mph average. Very pleased!

Truth be told, your right hand has an awful lot to do with mileage as well....

Just sayin'

On my '08 RK and now on my '12 Limited, both averaged around 40-42mpg's when stock. After stage 1's on both bikes I average 35-37. No matter how fast or how slow I ride.

It amazes me that some are getting close to 50 mpg's!

That is some of the fun playing with the dynojet you can see your current fuel use and the average over the trip displayed. Once you get use to playing with the answer is right in front of you just how that right hand effects it. Not just top speeds but how you roll on and off.

I think these 50+ mpg guys don't know how to do the math! No f'ing way is anyone getting 50 mpg on a Harley... unless you're going downhill with the wind. Taking it easy I can get 40 mpg. I typically get 38. I commute every day a minimum of 80 miles each day and it could be as high as 200 miles for the day. In addition, my wife and I go for at least 1 long ride on the weekend. I confirm the mpg on every tank fill up. It's never more than 40.

what he said
If they are doing 50MPG then they are running leaner than factory, babying the hell out of it and always going downhill with a tail wind.

most tuned bikes seem to run in the 35-40 range. under 35 you are probably too rich and not getting any benefit, over 40 running mostly at 14.6 AFR
IMHO

It's not really important to me to lie to a bunch of strangers on the internet about mileage. I doubt it would be important to most people here. A good tune will increase your mileage, not decrease it.

There's far more to a tune than just "rich" or "lean".

Yep, 42 is the best I have seen, I got my map and didn't like fuel milage and seem like alot hotter running, and called and was told it was running as lean as it can, so did a dyno and the rear was too lean, So also did an auto tune on dyno'd map and got better yet..
