Surely they wouldn't LIE to us????

Guess I should go ahead and pull the trigger on cams and the jackpot header and have Ed at Dyno Difference up in Dallas tune it. When you're 200-250 miles from the closest reputable/respected tuner, kinda makes it a little harder. I've thought about going to an auto tune setup like the power vision just for that reason.
You can't go wrong with Ed at the dyno difference. He tuned my bike, and it run better than ever. I rode from Spring to Dallas at 25 mpg at 75-80 and rode home at 39 mpg, same speeds and a lot more HP.

Well I disagree 50 mpg is possible with the right tune. But can you do it everyday no.
I do average 46-48 all of the time.
Two up two weeks vacation riding around Smoky's 4000 miles when we got back home average was 48.2 .
35-38 you either ride in town a lot or a tune that is just another one where they dump fuel to it.

Whoever thinks that by properly tuning your engine won't gain you mileage is silly.

My '11 FLTRU, Rush True Duals, Rush 3 1/2" cans wit 2" baffles, SE Air cleaner, K&N Filter, tuned with TTS, ran 43-47 mpg all day long.

My '14 FLHTK, stock stock... except the seat, I'm lucky to get 38 so far.

Just waiting on some thing to sell so I can get my tune back.

2011 Limited - 103 with HD hi-flow, 254E cams, FatShotz, and HD street tuner and I got 180 miles (290 km) on my last tank. It seems a little thirsty if you ask me

I agree with the tune can get you better milage or can hurt your mileage, with just a map sent I could only get bout 33mpg and after dyno I got 39mpg and then I did an autotune basic with power vision and I get 41-43mpg, so spend the money and be sure the tuner is worthy cuz you already spent it on all the stage 1 stuff so get it running right, Oh and that's ride'n two up most of the time :}

I would love to get 50 MPG on my Ultra. Usually a mile or two either side of 40 is where I run. I did get 50+ out of my Heritage once. I was going with a 30 mph wind on flat stretch of highway in SD.

And my mileage will run 33-37 mpg no mater how easy I run it solo or getting on it 2up with bags.

I see some of you guys getting as much as 50mpg. Am I the only one seeing this low of mpg????
You're not alone. My mileage has always been what I consider low which is, 33-38. Doesn't matter how I'm riding, highway on cruise, or city.

I bought the Thunder-Max, thinking it would improve it, but it hasn't made any difference to the mileage at all. Might even be worse with it.

At least you have the 6gal tank. I just make sure I'm leading when riding with my buddies, otherwise they'll run me out of gas. Not a big concern within civilization, but when riding in Southwest Texas, you better stop and top off when you can, or you'll be sitting on the side of the road.

My gas mileage bugs me, but I've done just about everything I can think of to improve it. I just accept it and let it go now.

The Map I use most of the time with The Dynojet came from fuel moto.
When I requested the map I let them know I was not interested in the fastest. RGU on the block . I wanted to add a bit of fuel and cover the 2-1-2 headers the night stick exhaust and SE heavy breather.
I have run auto tune off that map a few times and increased mileage a bit but I stick with the map they gave me.

My 2012 sg has se 254 cams sert se heavy breather vance and hines power duals and 4inch rineharts. When i was on break in i got the best of 48mpg. Now around 10k miles i have notice my fuel mileage plunging. I get at worst ive ever seen the other week makin a run doin 80-90mph only gettin 37mpg. I generally get an average of 43 mpg and im fairly throttle happy. Still hasnt seen a dyno yet runnin a canned map set up from harley. Runs good just to busy buying other goodies then dyno time. Which will change by spring. Quick question though have any of you guys had ur bike somewhat hard to start on occassion? Say after a long ride stoppin gettin gas then takin off again. Thinkin mine is due to its all but ready for service but still that shouldnt be normal

Of all of the Harleys I have owned from a Sportser to a Heritage, Fatbob and two Ultra classics I don't recall ever touching 40mpg,usually between 32 to 36mpg. I must be having way too much fun!
