OEM warranty covered a lot of it. ESP has paid out more than I paid for it, including deductibles.

Well, I'm gonna knock on wood here but she's been doing pretty good lately.

I've waited to long to trade it in. It's got too many miles on it. Earlier this year I talked to a salesman about trading it in for a new one. He said because of the miles they could only give me 8 or 9, maybe 10k for it (I can't remember exactly but it was quite low) and I'm not gonna cough up that much difference.

I've got 2 yrs and 2 mos left on the ESP so I'll ride it out and rethink it then.

I've got lots of friends with HD Touring bikes and they never seem to have problems. I guess I'm just lucky that way.

I just bought a 2015 Trike, don"t know how you folks feel about three wheelers. I am older now and my Deluxe and I would wobble when stopping and on take off. I would like to know what a fair price for regular service should be, I think $300.00 for an oil change and checking for loose bolts is a bit too high.

You are digging up a 2 year 4 month old post about extended service contracts???

You might be better off starting a new post... keep in mind,,, hourly labor today is running right at $100 an hour - Change your own oil?

I have a very good friend that is a senior manager for a well known insurance company and he advised me not to purchase extended warranties. Instead put that money aside and if something happens you have the cash. I have always followed that advice and have benefited from it.

Agreed. I bought a 2 year powertrain warranty with a 3 year tire and wheel warranty for $1,100 I think. Had to have the bike in a couple times and no issues with the warranty covering repairs.

Just got a flyer today from J&L harley in Sioux Falls. 5 Yr extended warranty for $1.00.

There is a catch, however. I gotta buy a new bike to get the warranty!
