Which makes quite a bit of sense.

Not to mention if youre comparing it to the 16" wheels its going to be a harsher ride, less rubber sidewall to absorb the shock.

O/p doesn't have air shocks. He has the SGS which comes with the upgraded manual adjustable shocks. There is a chart in the owners manual that explains how to adjust based on rider weight and load.

What do you weigh and what do you have the dial on the left shock set to?

There is a chart in the manual. Adjust it according to the weight on the bike as a good starting point.

IMHO the shocks are a small part of the problem. That really cool low profile front tire is hard as a rock. The rear ain't much better. I'm sure they will get good mileage, but I'll be looking for something a little softer when the need arises.

Waiting for the Monotubes.

My shocks had 8psi when I bought it so I upped it to 20psi and it rides better. I agree with the previous post in that the low profile front is a little rough from a comfort standpoint.

Buy a new 2014 Ultra and you will never notice the hard ride because the bike will always be in the shop getting the cooling system fixed. I couldn't resist, sorry.

The 2014 Ultra's aren't Twin Cooled.

And like you, I couldn't resist.

I was going to lower the front end at the 1000 mile service, because of short inseam,
with the crome fork lowers I have ordered. Now that I have a few hunderd miles on the
"Bike" I am now comfortable with the ride & handling. The owners manual gives a good
run down on how to adjust the rear shocks, both air shocks & manual adjustable shocks
On the SG & SGS bikes.
