Default Grip Installation

Wondering if anyone has used Double Face Tape and Solvent versus GripLock when installing Grips.

Give me your thoughts.

Can you be a little more specific? I just installed grips and didn't need Griplock or double faced tape.

Using Double Face Tape and Solvent is a method used for regripping golf clubs. Wrap the Double Face Tape around Handle Bar, coat with solvent, slide the grip on. Once the solvent dries, the tape adheres to the Grip keeping it on.

I used a few drops of silicone seal. This was just to make sure they were a little more secure then just sliding them on.

The OP should at least put the model and year of the bike he is working with.
They are not all the same.

I too installed grips on my '11 Street Glide. No tape or glue of any kind required.

I don't use glue. I use electrical tape. Start at bar end and wrap towards control housing leaving a wide gap between wraps. Once you reach control housing continue wrap back out to bar end making a criss cross pattern then slide your grip on. If its too loose add a little more tape. I like mine just a little loose so that I can turn it to any position I want.

Cheap can of aerosol hair spray. Spray in grip, slides on pretty easy. When hair spray dries in a minute or 2 it is sticky and will keep grip from sliding, but not to difficult to move if needed.

Default Replaced my grips......

I replaced my grips just this past spring.
The grips I got from HD came with a little tube of glue but I didn't use it. I didn't see the need and haven't had any issues.
