Outlaw Helmet Recall

Outlaw Helmet Recall
I got a letter in the mail from a company named Tegol, Inc. in regards to a recall on my Outlaw helmet.
I responded to their Email address today but have had no response yet because its to early.
They say that they will send a FEDEX shipping label and after they receive the helmet they will refund your money.
My question is "Has anyone else received a recall notice on their Outlaw Helmet from this company and if so did you receive your money after shipping them your helmet.
Thanks in advance for any information.

Same here. I just use this particular helmet for running around town anyway, and I like it's low profile look (it's the only half-helmet I've ever owned that didn't give me mushroom head).

Yeah, my buddy got his notice back in February. It seems to be for their carbon fiber helmets. They failed DOT tests. So they are recalling them and sending new ones. I beleive he told me the problem was that after wearing them in the sun, they would get hot on top and did not perform properly during an accident. I beleive it took him 3 months to get his replacement after sending his back. Just as an FYI.

I got the recall notice. Later got the return shipping label. Boxed the helmet up in an old box and took it to FEDEX. About two months or so later, I received a check in the mail. It was not for the full amount of what I paid, but was only a few dollars short (they don't refund taxes, etc). Wish I kept the helmet instead. I'm in a DOT required state, but not many of the LEO stop folks to look at their lids and whether or not they are compliant. I've never been stopped on my bike. Tegol is legit, but slow. So now I'm looking at alternatives and think I'll get a 3/4 to go along with my full. The 1/2's are comfy, but really don't offer much in the way of protection (bugs, other airborne objects are the main concerns). We get a lot of bugs and other airborne objects down in the South.
