Default Scratch on the primary cover?

Well it looks like my gf put a nice scratch on my primary cover while getting on the bike. Is there a way to buff it out?

Powder coated and painted non wrinkle covers can be buffed like any paint depending on how deep the scratch. Despite what some may say, no product will remove scratches in Chrome. Re-chrome or live with the scratches. Trying to remove chrome scratches will only make them look worse....

Scratches will happen, it gives the bike character. The second day I had the '12 home I went into the house for a few minutes between rides and a chicken jumped on the tank, scratching the crap out of it. Character.
