Default 2014 Infotainment - Phone not iPod Shuffle

After spending money on an iPod shuffle and screwing around trying to get the system to recognize playlists (as opposed to single songs sorted alphabetically), I have just reverted to using my phone. iPhone and Android = easy to use and playlists show up automatically. iPod = pain in a**. Just thought I might save someone some hard earned cash.

The iPod Touch 4th generation playlist option works ok. There must be some issue with the Shuffle, and perhaps other models.

it isn't the ipod that is causing you so much frustration. it is the ipod shuffle. those do not have much flexibility and versatility and are not compatible with many other systems. get a real ipod and you shouldn't have any issues (as experienced by using the iphone, which is really an ipod touch with communications capabilities)

My iPod Nano works ok.
I'm using a very cheep16 gig thumb drive. One big playlist played randumly. The infotainment system does a good job finding and listing a group of songs then allowing to save as a favorite.

This. Sorry if I wasn't clear, but it is the iPod SHUFFLE that was a waste of money.
