i DID have to extend the brake lines and the clutch cable for the12" bars. i have them rolled back towards me maybe more than normal, but the clutch cable would have worked if i took it out of the fairing.... brake line... eeehhh not so much it was REALLY tight stretched! i went with the best bet and extended them both, BAM easy solution! I went with a +6 clutch magnum cable and the magnum 2 piece brake line kit.
How far back toward you can you pull those withouth them getting out of position and grips point at the sky or the ground?

Based upon what I have read, there's a trick to it. My indy (great guy with a small shop) got mine on with no problem and they look great.

I am supposed to pick up my SG tomorrow (Saturday), so I'll ask him what the trick is for getting that left grip installed.

Stay tuned.

after our trip from Alexandria Louisiana to Ft Worth Tx, this bare KICK A$$!! no more shoulder strain like the stock bars, hand position is much better!

as for the roll back to the driver, i have a bit more room to pull them back if i ever wanted to try adjusting them. i'll get a measurement here after a bit.

I got my Yaffe 12" Classic Bagger Apes and Cat-free Header installed last Saturday:

The 12" Yaffe Classic Bagger Apes are SO much more comfortable than the stock bars. The difference is AMAZING!

And adding the Cat-less Header gave me "growl" and some "go" for not much dough!

nice!! much better feel to them, isn't it!! looks like you have yours a bit more forward than i do... i had to roll mine back a bit farther with the mustang seat (and of course shoulder issues)

Thanks! And, yes, the comfort level is vastly improved.

I did a quick test under my carport today: I rotated the bars to left-lock and right-lock and I was able to maintain my grip with both hands, while also maintaining an upright posture. That said, there was zero wiggle room with regard to reach - my arms were fully stretched at the lock positions. I don't know that I would ever attempt to make a locked turn, but if I did, I think I would want just a tad more pullback than what I have now.

Here's a closer side view of my current setup:

Totally agree, TeamMudd.

I got my Yaffe's from Dennis Kirk for $94.99, but what really sold me on them was the neutral wrist angle and the "in-between" height measurement; that is, they're taller than 12's, but smaller than 14's. Perfect!
