Default Weird Streetglide sound

I have a strange squeek, rattle and buzzy sound (hard to describe) that seems to be coming from inside the fairing on my 2012 FLHX. It is intermittent, seems to occur mostly after the bike is warmed up and is loudest when doing about 45mph. Goes away when accelerating or decelerating. Also goes away when pulling in the clutch, not abruptly but just kind of dies down. For those that know mechanical instruments, it kind of sounds like a tach or speedo cable in need of lube.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Can you move your fairing by hand when pushing on the outer edges? Sounds like you may have loose or broken fairing brackets. My son said a while back he had a strange noise in his dash and just yesterday I took the outer fairing off and 3 of the four brackets were broken in two and one insert had to be replaced.

Common problem is broken fairing brackets. There are a number of upgraded brackets and repairs. Heres an example.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've had the outer fairing off and there doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary. Speakers, instruments, brackets all seem to be in tight with no rattles. I'm thinking it maybe more drivetrain related and the noise is coming up and bouncing off fairing. Thanks.

Found it! The chrome cover over the gas cap was vibrating at certain RPM. I fabricated a thin shim to go between the locking mechanism and the top side of the door, thick enough so that the latch held the lid down real snug against the rubber stops.
