Default No throttle

Installed 14" bars on 2012 flhx. All controls work, bike will start but no Throttle response. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Same thing happened on my 2010 during the install. Check the wiring (I know I'm stating the obvious). One wire is in the wrong spot.

Did you plug in/hook up TBW electrical sending unit. Or if you extended the plug, is it rewired right.

Either you didn't plug into the correct connector at the main harness or the TBW wire or connector got pulled apart. If you ran the wires inside the bars, this is probably what happened.Pull harness back out and remove green TBW connector and solder wires together with shrink wrap over them.Hopefully you used bars with the slot in the bar end for the throttle.

I bet $1 on the green plug came apart...start over...sorry man. Only way is to take it apart. Start with the plugs in the bucket and then back track to the TBW wires.

I hope it was still mostly apart when you found this.

Thanks for the info. I actualy broke the green plug pulling the wires out of the stock bars so I cut and soldered with shrink wrap. So maybe by some chance when I reinstalled the pins to the connector I have 1 in the wrong location. I did have to tug on the wires a few times so is their a possibility I damaged the TBW unit. Everything else works fine. Just no throttle.

yea its possible you pulled something inside the tbw out. normally if there is a connector there is a reason for it sometimes there is a resister or something in them Barnett actually makes the green plugs that are extended. maybe you didn't get the grip locked on the tbw right who knows. good luck

try this longshot. pull the grip off only and try throttle. I assembled and the gear in grip did not mesh with TBW

If you disassembled the end of the TBW wiring harness, which I'm certain you did, go back over the wiring placement in the plug and make sure all 6 wires are in the correct location. Got in a hurry doing my first bar change and had the 3 wires in the top row transposed as well as the bottom row. Found my mistake after 1 1/2 days, swapped wires to correct location and BAM!!! All was good.

Also make certain the grip is fully engaged on the bar. I did not do so the first time, so I wasn't really turning the TBW device.
