Wrapped baffle vs unwrapped

I just changed my louvered baffle to a wrapped baffle, it is quieter but not by a lot. If you have a louvered baffle it has a metal cover that will have to be cut off if you are going to wrap it, I ordered a wrapped baffle from D&D rather than mess with cutting the old one.
As far as the sound I think it is less raspy and a little deeper tone.
